Shelbyville Dog Park is a grass roots effort to build a community, off-leash dog park in Shelbyville, Indiana.

We have formed a nonprofit organization called Shelby County Dog Owners' Group LTD and our main objective is development and fundraise for an Off-Leash Dog Park in Shelbyville.  With the cooperation of the Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department we have agreed to lease Sunset Park.

We invite you to participate in our effort by becoming a member or an active volunteer. Our goal is to raise the needed funds to begin construction by 2010. If you are a guardian of a dog, a dog lover, or you simply recognize the community’s need for this positive project, please visit our fundraising page.

Our Mission:  To establish, through a community partnership with the Shelby County/Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department, a confined area for controlled “off-leash” dog recreation, allowing dogs, their owners, and other visitors to share the park in an environment which is safe, clean, and enjoyable to all.  To encourage responsible pet ownership through the development of educational programs for dogs, their owners, and other park visitors.
